Photographs of Trier (Trèves), Germany's oldest city (2,000+ years).

If you follow the steps from yesterday's photo, you will get to the Mariensäule, a 40 meter (130 feet) high column depicting Maria, overlooking the city from a height of 300 meters (985 feet).

I rode up there on Thursday to take pictures, and the thick fog added a lot to the atmosphere. Sure, if you wanted to enjoy the view you should go on a clear day, but the column and its surroundings looked really cool and spooky covered in the mist.
